Baie d’Alger is one of the RP Paris car interior fragrances. It is the reference in the range recommended for high-mileage drivers: those whose car is a workplace more than a means of transport.

The cabin odor problem

In a vehicle used every day, the odor does not come from a single source. It builds up: seat foam, carpet, a clogged cabin filter, moisture brought in by shoes, leftovers of meals eaten at the wheel. In a van or service vehicle, the problem sets in within a few weeks.

A diffuser does not fix the cause — you need to change the cabin filter once a year and air the vehicle regularly — but it treats the result effectively, provided it is replaced before it runs dry. An empty bottle masks nothing anymore.

In practice

  • Clips onto the air vent; the heat of the airflow activates diffusion.
  • In a van or large space, prefer the central vent to cover the cabin.
  • In a sedan, a side vent is more than enough.
  • Keep a spare bottle: the transition between two refills is when the underlying odor comes back out.
  • When parked for a long time in the sun, remove the bottle from its holder.
