A melting night cream, with no perceptible grains, that brings together two sources of tingling well known to fans of active skincare: retinol and marine spicules. Mary&May intends it for skin that wants to work on texture, pores and fine lines in a single evening step.

A retinol and PDRN cream to refine skin texture

Retinol is presented by the brand in the form of nano-liposomes, an encapsulation meant to make it more stable and more gradual. It is the reference active for smoothing the look of fine lines, visually tightening pores and evening out texture, provided you persevere for several weeks.

The spicules (Hydrolyzed Sponge) are tiny needles of marine sponge that stimulate the surface; they explain the tingling felt on application. PDRN (Sodium DNA), the last ingredient on the list, plays a hydrating and comfort role here: its solid evidence concerns injection, not cream. Niacinamide, panthenol, ceramide NP and cholesterol limit dryness.

How to use it

  • In the evening only, on clean, well-dried skin, as the last step or before a simple night cream.
  • Gradually: two evenings a week at first, then every other evening if the skin stays comfortable.
  • A small hazelnut-sized amount for the whole face, avoiding the eye area, the sides of the nose and the corners of the lips.
  • No combining on the same evening with an AHA, a BHA, a scrub or a pure vitamin C.
  • The next morning, sunscreen is essential, even in overcast weather.

Which skin is it for?

It suits normal, combination or oily skin with uneven texture, and mature skin already familiar with active skincare. If you have never used retinol, start very slowly: spicules and retinol add up their tingling. It is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding, nor on broken or irritated skin. Frequently asked questions

What is the difference from the Spicule Collagen PDRN Cream?

The Collagen version contains no retinol and remains the gentler one. This one adds retinol and, according to the brand, more spicules: it calls for a more cautious introduction.

Can it be used in the morning?

No. Retinol breaks down in light and makes the skin more sensitive to the sun: keep it for the evening.

When do you see the first results?

Skin texture looks smoother fairly quickly, but the effect on fine lines and pores takes several weeks. Slight flaking at the start is common.

What should I do if the skin peels or turns red?

Space out the applications, put a nourishing cream on top and resume more slowly. If the irritation persists, stop.

A product to reserve for the calm evenings of your routine, as a complement to the perfect complexion and pores selection.
