How it unfolds

Grapefruit opens bitter and bright, bergamot rounds it out, and pink pepper — which is not a pepper but a berry — adds a facet that is both spicy and slightly fruity. A lively entrance, with no sugar.

The heart combines aquatic notes, lavender and cardamom. The aquatic accord rests on synthetic molecules such as calone: there is no such thing as a “water flower” — it is an invention of 1990s perfumery, which has since become the signature of so-called “clean” masculines.

The base is clear and dry: cashmere wood, white woods, white musk, with oakmoss providing the composition’s only damp, green note.

Masculine, wearable as unisex. Spring and summer above all, daytime: it is an office and activity profile, not an evening one.

How to use

Three to four sprays: aromatic fresh fragrances call for a more generous dose than orientals.
Do not rub your wrists — grapefruit and bergamot are the most volatile notes.
On moisturized skin, the citrus phase lasts noticeably longer.
Keep the bottle away from light: citrus notes suffer first.
