Hydrogel is a water-rich gel, thickened here with carob gum and a red seaweed, Chondrus crispus. Placed on the skin, it slowly releases its serum and gives an immediate feeling of freshness. This cold contact is what gives the eyes a less puffy look on waking.
The collagen in the formula does not reach the dermis: the molecule is far too large. It forms a hydrating film that smooths and plumps the look of fine lines for the length of the application. It does not stimulate your skin's collagen.
Four peptides accompany this film, including acetyl hexapeptide-8 and palmitoyl tripeptide-5. Their effects are modest and call for regular use over several weeks. Niacinamide, caffeine, adenosine and several forms of hyaluronic acid complete the formula for fresher-looking eyes.
How to use
Cleanse the face and dry the area well. Take a pair with clean fingers and place each patch under the eye, the widest part towards the nose. Leave on for around ten minutes, as the brand recommends, then remove them gently and pat in the remaining serum until absorbed. Carry on with your usual cream.
In the morning, they smooth the eye area. In the evening, they prepare the skin before an outing. Keep the jar in the fridge if you like a colder effect, and close it well so the patches stay moist. A patch is used only once.
Which skin is it for?
They suit tired eyes, eyelids that are a little puffy in the morning and dehydration lines. The ingredient list contains no fragrance. Sensitive skin can adopt them, after a first test on a small area.
