A cream with a velvety finish that spreads easily, hydrates without weighing down and stays discreet under make-up. The 80 ml of The Ceramide Skin Barrier Moisturizer have a precise aim: to restore comfort to skin that feels tight, stings in the wind or tolerates its usual skincare poorly.

A ceramide cream built like the skin barrier

The outermost layer of the skin looks like a brick wall. The cells form the bricks, and a mortar of lipids binds them together: ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids. When this mortar runs low, water escapes faster and the skin becomes dry, rough and more reactive.

This cream supplies all three families at once. The brand states seven types of ceramides, including ceramides NP, NS, AP, AS and EOP. It also contains cholesterol, palmitic and stearic acids, and squalane. Five forms of hyaluronic acid, panthenol, allantoin and vitamin E complete the formula. The benefit is measured in comfort: skin that is suppler, less tight and regains a smooth feel.

How to use

Morning and evening, after the toner, essence and serum, take a hazelnut-sized amount of cream. Spread it over the face and neck, then massage or pat until absorbed. In the morning, sun protection comes last.

On retinol or exfoliant evenings, it can serve as a comfort layer on top. When the skin is truly irritated, pause your actives for a few days and keep this cream on its own, with a gentle cleanser.

Which skin is it for?

It suits dry skin, sensitised skin or skin weakened by cold, air conditioning or an excess of actives. The brand intends it for all skin types, and its ingredient list contains no fragrance. Oily skin will appreciate it more in the evening, or in a thin layer. To widen your routine, see our soothing for sensitive skin selection.

Skin that stays red, burns or weeps despite a simple routine deserves a dermatologist's advice rather than another cream.

Frequently asked questions

How does it differ from COSRX's Hyaluronic Hydra Intensive Cream?

The Hydra cream mainly supplies water and humectants. This one rebuilds the lipid mortar that holds that water in. For dry or sensitised skin, the ceramide cream is the more logical choice.

Can I use it while using a retinol?

Yes, it is even a good duo. Apply the retinol, wait a few minutes, then the cream. It eases the tight feeling of the first few weeks.

Morning or evening?

Both. In the morning in a thin layer under sun protection, in the evening in a slightly more generous layer on dry areas.

Is it suitable for blemish-prone skin?

Its texture remains light. Skin prone to spots will use it in a thin layer, preferably in the evening, and watch how the skin reacts over two to three weeks.

Can I apply it around the eyes?

It is not formulated for this area. If you do use it there, stay on the bone around the eye with a very small amount.
