How a vent diffuser works

The principle is purely mechanical and worth understanding, because it explains the whole behavior of the product. The bottle is placed in contact with the airflow of the ventilation; it is the heat and flow of this air that make the fragrance evaporate. There is no battery, no electric wick, no timer.

Three practical consequences:

Engine cold, ventilation off, diffusion is almost nil. That is normal.
Heating on full in winter, it becomes very present — lower the airflow or move the clip.
A bottle lasts longer on short trips than on the highway, where the ventilation runs continuously.

Where to place it

Central vent: maximum diffusion, to be reserved for large interiors or stubborn odors to mask.
Side vents: the right compromise in most cases.
Vent pointed at the windshield: the gentlest diffusion, without blowing the fragrance in your face.
Check that the clip holds firmly: a diffuser that falls while driving is an avoidable distraction.

In summer, remove the bottle when the car is parked in full sun: a closed interior reaches very high temperatures and empties the bottle prematurely.
