Ameer Al Oudh 100 ml — Lattafa's woody oriental
The name says it: Ameer Al Oudh, "the prince of oud". Lattafa puts wood at the centre here, in a catalogue that otherwise counts many gourmands and florals. One of the references to know if you are after a woody oriental rather than a sweet one.

How it develops
The opening is the most surprising part: saffron gives that leathery, slightly medicinal facet characteristic of Gulf perfumery, myrrh adds its bitter resin, and raspberry lays a fruity touch that softens the whole. This saffron-myrrh-fruit trio is a signature of the genre.
The heart tips towards wood: creamy sandalwood in the foreground, surrounded by a discreet floral accord — jasmine, lilac, carnation. Carnation, a little peppery, naturally extends the saffron of the start.
The base is warm and enveloping: dry cedar, sandalwood again, musk, and an ambergris note that brings that saline, animalic quality typical of orientals. Vanilla rounds it off without making the perfume sweet.

Unisex, more often worn by men. Its richness points to autumn, winter and evenings; in full heat, reduce to one or two sprays.

- Two sprays are enough: the ambergris-sandalwood-musk base is tenacious.
